Multiple Jurisdiction Review Workshop
work together to reduce the impact of land use on water quality

Participants identify how they can work together across jurisdictional boundaries on changes to development rules and processes. Prior to the workshop, participants complete a Codes and Ordinance Worksheet and provide it to the workshop facilitators. In the workshop, participants compare worksheet results and identify opportunities to work together on changing development rules and processes.

Workshop locations
The workshop is held in one of the participating jurisdictions conference room. Workshop facilitators work with participants to set date and time.

Objectives and goals
Participants learn how:
• their development rules compare to those of surrounding jurisdictions
• they can work together with surrounding jurisdictions to develop and adopt codes and ordinance resulting in development that has less impact on water quality

Prerequisites

Participants work for or with local governments to address land use or water quality issues. They work for adjacent jurisdictions. They have taken the Site Planning Roundtable Management Training Workshop. This is not mandatory, particularly if local elected officials and key opinion leaders support changing their community’s development rules. Participants have completed all items on the Center for Watershed Protection’s Codes and Ordinance Worksheet and have provided the results to the meeting facilitators by the deadline.

Materials

Participants receive a summary of Codes and Ordinance Worksheet results from all participating jurisdictions. After the workshop, they receive a report of meeting results.

Certification

Participants do not receive a certificate.
